Value chain is the interlinked value adding activities that converts inputs into outputs which, in turn, add to the bottom line and help create competitive advantage. A value chain typically consists of (1) Inbound logistics (2) Manufacturing Operation, (3) Outbound distribution or logistics, (4) Marketing and Selling, and (5) After – Sale Servic e. These activities are supported by; (6) Purchasing or procurement, (7) Research and development, (8) Human resource development, and (9) Corporate infrastructure (Business Dictionary.Com 2009). Market value is the price at which willing buyers and sellers trade the assets (Rose et al 1996):24). In fact management’s job is to create a value for the firm that is higher than its cost. Coordinating the individual parts of the value chain together to work as a team creates the conditions to improve Customer Satisfaction particularly in terms of cost efficiency, quality and delivery (Drury 2008):15).
